Caramel Mocha Iced Coffee

from the Christkindlmarkt at EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion during Holidays Around the World

Ingredients:
– 1 1/2 cups freshly brewed hot coffee
– 12 pieces of Werther’s Baking Caramel
– 1/2 tablespoon chocolate syrup
– 1/2 cup whole milk

Place caramels into a large mixing bowl. Pour hot coffee over caramels and stir for 10 minutes or until caramels are dissolved.

Stir in the chocolate syrup and milk. Serve over ice.

OK, so full disclosure here: I couldn’t find Werther’s baking caramels so I improvised. I found a caramel filled chocolate bar and used those. I didn’t add in the tablespoon of chocolate syrup since the caramels I melted were covered in chocolate. So the end product probably came out more chocolaty and less “caramely” than intended but it still tasted AMAZING! So don’t fret if your grocery store stinks and doesn’t have baking caramels!
